The West Bow River Bridge twinning project will be built by Flatiron and Aecon for US$68 million. It is expected to support 300 jobs during construction.

“We look forward to working with our partner, Flatiron, to successfully and safely execute this important project for Albertans,” said Aecon Group president and CEO Jean-Louis Sevranckx. “This project will be a key component in the completion of Calgary’s ring road, providing vital infrastructure for the growing Calgary area.”

The 11km ring road is divided into southern and northern road sections as well as the bridge across the Bow River. The contractor for the north road segment has also been announced, with EllisDon winning the US$352 million contract. A request for qualifications for the southern section is due to be issued in the coming days.
