Ferrovial has won the work through Webber, a subsidiary of Ferrovial Agroman. It has also won another widening project in Texas, involving the construction of four new bridges and the widening of another.

The bridge at Galveston Bay will be built as part of a project to widen SH 146 - an official hurricane evacuation corridor - to six lanes along a 7km stretch between Red Bluff Road and SH 96, south-east of Houston. The project, which will start in January 2019, must be completed within five years.

The second Texas scheme is a US$108 million contract for the IH-10 highway, where Webber will widen and upgrade the main lanes and add two lanes to the four currently available on a stretch south-east of San Antonio.
