The fund will provide Madagascar with about US$10 million of finance towards the US$72 million project, which involves building of an 880m-long prestressed concrete bridge together with approximately 7km of approach roads. The overall project work also includes consultancy services for tasks such as the review of the detailed design and supervision of construction.

Other bodies funding the project include the Saudi Fund for Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa along with the government of Madagascar.
