The 3,118m-long and 68m-wide Xihoumen Bridge has a 1,488m main span and will connect Zhoushan City's Jintang and Cezi islands in East China's Zhejiang Province, around 288km south of Shanghai.

The bridge will carry two rail tracks mid-deck and three highway lanes on either side.

Although not specified in official news channels, the video suggests that the new bridge uses both suspension and cable-stayed systems.

Work on the main pier foundation is under way and main girder construction is planned to start in 2025, report local news sources. The main span is expected to be completed in 2028.

The bridge is a key element of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, whose construction commenced in November 2022. The finished Xihoumen Bridge will connect Zhoushan City to the national rail network.
