Transport and main roads minister Mark Bailey said that the tender will include design for a new three-lane northbound bridge, including geotechnical and environmental investigations, and service relocations.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the detailed design was a key part of the government’s allocation of US$14 million to fast-track a business case and technical investigations for the new river crossing at Jindalee on the Centenary Motorway.

“That planning will enable future bridge widening and additional road capacity southbound,” she said.

Detailed design is expected to start mid-year and take about 12 months.
