Pittsburg design contract for Baker
Michael Baker has been awarded a contract by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 11, to design two connecting ramps at the interchange of Interstate 79, Route 22/30 and the Parkway west of Pittsburgh. Under Phase One of this multi-phase contract, which will take two years to complete at a total cost of US$1.3 million, Baker will perform preliminary design of the ramps, which will include aerial mapping, environmental site assessments, traffic studies, alternative alignment analysis, bridge analysis, and cultural resources work. The estimated value for all phases of the agreement, which will include final design and consultation services during construction, is approximately US$5 million. It is anticipated that construction will begin on the project in 2006.
