The tender for a 420m international bridge and associated roads that will connect two cities opens for bidding in mid-October.

The Brazilian Ministry of Transport has said that it will request proposals from 16 October for a bridge over the Jaguarão River, connecting the cities of Jaguarão in Brazil and Rio Branco in Uruguay. It will take the pressure off the existing and heavily used Barão de Mauá bridge.

The announcement can be viewed in the official gazette of the union (link opens in new tab).
